Plane Jane has been making waves throughout the hip hop community. Their sound is very different and distinct than other female hip hop artist today. Luckily, Bzybee of Plane Jane took some time out her busy schedule to talk about her natural hair with me. Her hair is gawgus by the way….

How long have you been natural and when did you BC?
I didn’t Big chop. Even when i did get perms i didn’t get them often. I would get them twice a year because my hair is so thick.

What are your staple products and hairstyles?
Carol’s daughter and olive oil.
I also use the black vanilla leave in conditioner. Carol’s daughter is a favorite of mine now.

What is your regimen?
I get my ends trimmed every month.
I am very big on deep condition so i deep condition it every time i wash it.
I wash twice a week, I use detangling shampoo and a carol’s daughter conditioner. I wash it, blow dry, flat iron, and i pick it out but it comes out curly.

What are your natural hair goals?
I am currently growing my hair out and am very anal about my hair. I unlocked my dreads. My current goal length is middle back length.

How do you keep your hair intact overnight?
I tie my hair up or put my bonnet on at night.

How do you maintain length?
Conditioning, conditioning, and also alternating between styles. I don’t believe in too much heat so i will wear it straight then curly, straight then curly

 
Name 1 reason you went natural and why you love being natural.
I love being natural because so many people aren’t. It makes me different and i always like to do that opposite of what everybody else is doing.
I’m really big on natural stuff. I don’t need all the extra stuff
