How long have you been natural and when did you BC?

My BC was April 2006. I transitioned for about 6 mos with micros, experienced extreme breakage, and just decided to cut it all off. You can see my hair journey videos on my website http://naturelle-chic.blogspot.com under the “Beauty” link.

What are your staple products and hairstyles?

My main products are Raw Shea Butter, Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk, Giovanni Leave-In Conditioner, IC Gel, and Organix shampoo and conditioner (even though I’m still trying out different brands).  My hairstyle usually rock is the afro puff but I’ve been experimenting with styles such as the frohawk and twistouts to do less pulling on my hair daily.

What are your natural hair goals?

I just want a big ol healthy juicy fro. I love the versatility of free natural hair, so I don’t think I will ever do dreadlocks or anything that requires commitment.

How do you keep your hair intact overnight?

I usually do large two strand twists/bantu knots or just pull it back with a satin scarf& cap. I totally suck at braids and cornrows/flat twists or I’d be doing those too.

How do you maintain length?

I rarely use heat, I trim every so often, and I moisturize a ton!

Name 1 reason you went natural and why you love being natural.

I went natural because I’ve ALWAYS loved curly hair. I found myself constantly trying to volumize and curl my relaxed hair until I realized I’d be a lot closer to my desired texture if I stopped relaxing. I love being natural because it just feels right. The straight hair never suited me, and I feel like I have so many more options now. Plus, there’s just something sexy about a girl who loves rocking the looks she was born with!
